VOLT X Electrical Estimating
VOLT X / ELECTRICAL ESTIMATING

How Electrical Estimating Works

01

Start with the project

Tell Liam what you are bidding, where it is located, the bid deadline with time zone, and whether you need takeoff, a full estimate, review or recurring support. Do not send drawings with the first enquiry.

02

Share documents through an agreed channel

VOLT X will need an approved secure-sharing workflow before receiving confidential drawings. Agree access, confidentiality and document handling first. After reviewing your requirements, we will invite designated contacts to a Google Drive folder. Access is by invitation; do not submit drawings through this website.

03

Confirm the proposal

Approve scope, document revisions, deliverables, exclusions, fee, CAD/USD currency, payment terms and schedule before work begins. Revision and addendum terms must be agreed in writing.

04

Review and decide

Use the agreed deliverables to review scope, quantities and cost assumptions. Your team remains responsible for the final tender, supplier commitments and bid submission.

UNITED STATES / CANADA

Local project inputs. A clear estimating brief.

Tell us the city, state or province, country and project type. Each engagement works from the agreed drawings, specifications, applicable code requirements and cost assumptions for that project.

  • Currency: request USD or CAD; the proposal confirms billing currency and payment terms.
  • Terminology and units: agree labor/labour terminology and metric, imperial or clearly labelled mixed units.
  • Code and jurisdiction: identify the authority having jurisdiction and requirements supplied by the project team; estimating support does not imply engineering certification or a professional license.
  • Local cost inputs: agree supplier quotations, labor/labour rates, productivity assumptions and allowances.
  • Deadlines: state the bid date, local time and time zone, plus the internal review cutoff.
