VOLT X Electrical Estimating
VOLT X / ELECTRICAL ESTIMATING

Outsourced Electrical Estimating Services

Outsource a defined electrical takeoff, estimate or review assignment—or discuss recurring support. VOLT X serves contractors throughout the United States and Canada with scoped fees, agreed capacity and named review responsibilities.

Electrical estimating support that fits the way your business bids.

Outsourced electrical estimating means engaging an external service for defined takeoff, cost-estimating or review work. It can help contractors handle occasional bids, recurring workloads or internal team overflow without immediately creating a full-time estimating position.

The tradeoff is a deliberate handoff: current documents, clear scope, agreed cost inputs and an internal reviewer are still essential. Monthly fees and committed capacity should be compared against your actual workload; savings and increased bid wins are not guaranteed.

YOUR NEXT STAGE

The right support for the business you are building.

HOW THE SERVICE OPERATES

Define the work. Agree the capacity. Review the result.

  1. Tell Liam your project location, project type, deadline and one-time or recurring needs.
  2. Agree a secure document-sharing method and provide the current drawing/specification issue and addenda.
  3. Approve the scope, fees, currency, schedule, review process and change terms.
  4. Review the agreed deliverables and confirm final pricing and bid decisions internally.

For monthly customers, agree a workload and allocation process. For established estimating teams, define which packages stay internal and which VOLT X can support.

ONGOING ESTIMATING SUPPORT

Your Estimating Department Today. Your Estimating Platform Tomorrow.

VOLT X provides professional electrical estimating services powered by Xkey AiE.

VOLT X uses Xkey AiE software to prepare electrical estimates. For certain contracts, a client may request a separate Xkey AiE account for access to its estimating work and a later transfer. Where the contract includes this arrangement, VOLT X holds the account and pays the monthly subscription as part of the services agreement until transfer is requested. Client access, the transfer process, subscription responsibility and project-record handling are defined in the contract and applicable Xkey AiE terms.

When you are ready to bring estimating in-house, you can request transfer of the Xkey AiE account. The contract and applicable Xkey AiE terms govern the handoff, subscription responsibility and project-record access.

A client-specific Xkey AiE account is optional and available by request under certain contracts. VOLT X holds and pays for that account under the services agreement until transfer is requested. Access, the handoff and subscription responsibility are defined in the contract.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Outsourcing, monthly support and account transitions.

Can I outsource electrical estimating without hiring full-time staff?

You can engage VOLT X for a defined project or discuss a monthly service arrangement. Compare your workload, review responsibilities and full employment costs before choosing. Outsourcing does not remove your responsibility for the final bid.

What does a fractional electrical estimator arrangement include?

The monthly proposal defines the electrical work, deliverables, estimating resources, review process, capacity, schedule and fee. It does not imply unlimited availability or a dedicated full-time employee.

Does a monthly agreement include my own Xkey AiE account?

VOLT X uses Xkey AiE software to prepare electrical estimates. For certain contracts, a client may request a separate Xkey AiE account for access to its estimating work and a later transfer. Where the contract includes this arrangement, VOLT X holds the account and pays the monthly subscription as part of the services agreement until transfer is requested. Client access, the transfer process, subscription responsibility and project-record handling are defined in the contract and applicable Xkey AiE terms.

Can my internal estimating team use overflow support?

Yes, you can discuss defined takeoff, estimate or review work alongside your internal team. Agree system boundaries, document revisions, inputs, review ownership and availability.

Can I request services in Canada or the USA?

Yes. VOLT X provides electrical estimating services to contractors throughout the United States and Canada. Provide the state/province, country, project requirements and preferred currency so we can agree the scope and schedule.

Is account handoff automatic?

No. Administrative ownership, permissions, data portability, billing and access revocation must be verified and contractually agreed. Continued access to historical records depends on supported functionality and retention terms.

UNITED STATES / CANADA

Local project inputs. A clear estimating brief.

Tell us the city, state or province, country and project type. Each engagement works from the agreed drawings, specifications, applicable code requirements and cost assumptions for that project.

  • Currency: request USD or CAD; the proposal confirms billing currency and payment terms.
  • Terminology and units: agree labor/labour terminology and metric, imperial or clearly labelled mixed units.
  • Code and jurisdiction: identify the authority having jurisdiction and requirements supplied by the project team; estimating support does not imply engineering certification or a professional license.
  • Local cost inputs: agree supplier quotations, labor/labour rates, productivity assumptions and allowances.
  • Deadlines: state the bid date, local time and time zone, plus the internal review cutoff.
